Leader of opposition in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Saturday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan should not close the doors of negotiations with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government. Talking to media after attending a meeting of National Security Conference held at Prime Minister House, the opposition leader said that Imran Khan should hold talks with the PML-N government to resolve the issues peacefully.
He said that Imran Khan wants to come into power through the use of gun. He said that if anything undemocratic happened we will lose democracy achieved after long struggle. The opposition leader said that briefing on Zarb-e-Azb operation was very informative but it should be given 20 to 25 days earlier. According to the source, Raza Rabbani questioned the Army Chief in the conference about invoking Article-245 of the Constitution in Islamabad. The Army chief replied that the government invoked the Article-245 to avert any backlash of the on-going military operation in North Waziristan. He said Army was called in for safety of important installations and buildings in the capital.
The sources said that in Friday's meeting of opposition leaders with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the opposition advised the Prime Minister that the issue of Article-245 of the Constitution should be resolved through a joint resolution of the Parliament after which the Army should be called back.
