Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was conspicuous by his absence at a crucial national security conference on Saturday. The conference was chaired by prime minister Nawaz Sharif and attended by federal minister, leader of the political parties except Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Lieutenant General Zaheerul Islam and other military officials, but Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan did not attend it, as he had left for Lahore on Friday to monitor and finalise a strategy relating to Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) protest.
However, official of Minister of Interior said that Chaudhry Nisar could not fly from Lahore to Islamabad to attend the moot due to inclement weather. The plane of Interior Minister and Punjab Chief Minister had to return from the runway as it could not take off due to rainy weather and, therefore, they were unable to attend the NSC meeting held in Islamabad.
