Independence Day to be celebrated at SU

The Independence Day will be celebrated with national zeal and enthusiasm in Sindh University Jamshoro and its campuses on August 14, 2014. The preparations in this regards have been finalised. According to university spokesperson Nadir Ali Mugheri, the vice-chancellor Professor Dr Abida Taherani would be the chief guest at the flag hoisting ceremony. This ceremony will also be attended by all Deans of faculties, faculty members, officers, employees and students of the varsity.
The national anthem will be played exactly at the time when the same will be played in Islamabad by the federal government. Afterwards, the other events will take place. After flag hoisting ceremony at Hyder Bux Pavilion Ground of the university, the tug of war and other games as well as activities will also be the parts of the independence celebrations.
According to spokesman, the point buses will be plied on various routes to bring the students, faculty members to the campus at about 7.30 while the celebrations will initiate from 8 pm after the national flag is hoisted. Similarly, the Independence Day will be celebrated with national fervour in SU campuses including International University of Peace, Sufism & Modern Science Bhit Shah, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Sindh University Campus Dadu, Laar Campus Badin, Larkana, Thatta, Mirpurkhas and Naushehro feroze Campuses.-PR
