At least three people were killed in separate incidents of violence while police claimed to have gunned down two suspected terrorists of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and two dacoits here. According to police sources, two suspected terrorists of a TTP were killed during a targeted operation conducted on Monday. An official in Shohrab Goth police station told Business Recorder that police team, on tip-off about the presence of terrorists in Sohrab Goth, Machar Colony area, conducted operation and killed two terrorists on the spot.
He said that one alleged terrorist was arrested during this operation. The bodies of deceased were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. In the same way, two alleged dacoits were killed by police during an encounter in Steel Town. Police said that the incident took place when robbers were fleeing after committing a robbery in Steel Town. In retaliatory firing, two robbers were killed on the spot while their one cohort managed to flee, police added. Two snatched motorcycles, arms and other looted valuables were also recovered from the possession of the robbers killed in fire exchange.
Sajjad, son of Khosh Hall Khan was shot and killed by unknown persons in Khayaban-e-Shehbaz, Defence Phase VI. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. Nosheen, daughter of Nisar resident of Baldia, Saeedabad claimed her life while consuming poisonous foodstuff in her house. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for post-mortem examinations. In another incident, Saeed Abdullah son of Mohsin Shah was shot and killed by unknown persons in Lyari Chakiwada No 2. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital (CH) for autopsy.
