Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Monday cancelled the affiliation of four colleges as their performance in the last four years' intermediate examinations remained "zero percent". The colleges which have been de-affiliated by the BIEK because of their poor performance include Allama Iqbal Intermediate Girls College, Al-Hadeed College for Science, Commerce and Arts, Askary Intermediate College and The Paradise College, North Nazimabad.
"The decision has been taken as not a single student of these colleges could pass the exams in the last four years," BIEK Chairman Professor Anwar Ahmed Zai said. Urging the parents not to admit their children in these colleges in the next academic year, he said that the BIEK would not be responsible if parents got their wards admitted to the de-affiliated colleges. He said that although the BIEK had repeatedly written letters to these colleges, asking them to improve their performance, administrations of such institutions did not pay any heed.
