President Mamnoon Hussain has said "we got considerable success in strengthening democracy and bringing stability in the country. The democratic government is making all-out efforts for the welfare of the people." The President said this while addressing the Independent Day Programme "Slaam Pakistan" held at Presidency on Tuesday.
He said elected representatives of the people were playing their role for development of the country and welfare of the people, adding that institutions of Pakistan were performing their responsibility effectively and the country was on the way of progress and development. He said "our army is busy in Zarb-e-Azb operation to get rid the country of terrorism. Our army and the nation are sacrificing in the war against terrorism." He said Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan were making sacrifices for the national interest, adding "we should acknowledge the sacrifices of army and IDPs."
