Tribute paid to soldiers: Prime Minister highlights significance of constitutional democracy

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Wednesday that the government is determined to eliminating terrorism and is striving to build a Pakistan in which the rights of all citizens are protected. Addressing as chief guest at the Independence Day parade, attended by civil and military leadership, the Prime Minister said that continuity of democracy, rule of law and Constitution would be protected.
Paying glowing tributes to the martyrs and their families, he said that Operation Zarb-e-Azb has been initiated against terrorists and the whole nation is standing behind the armed forces of the country. The Prime Minister said that the nation believes armed forces of Pakistan are fully capable of meeting all the challenges.
He said that the great sacrifices have been rendered by the personnel of armed forces in fight against terrorism and the nation pays tribute to the martyrs and their families. Nawaz said that the common citizens as well personnel of law enforcement agencies have rendered great sacrifices in the ongoing war against terrorism. "I salute to the mothers, and widows of martyrs who sacrificed their loved ones for the country," he added.
He said the people of Pakistan are fully aware of the sacrifices rendered by martyrs, their families and they would not be left alone anytime throughout their lives. The Prime Minister also paid glowing tributes to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Waziristan who have left their homes for the country. He vowed that the government would provide all the needed resources for the return and rehabilitation of IDPs to their homes. The Prime Minister said that it is imperative to protect the freedom that the country progresses in every field of life. The Prime Minister regretted that the country could not be put on path to progress during last 68 years. The present government, he stated is working on various development projects and the nation must benefit from it.
He said Pakistan wants good relations with all neighbourly countries on the basis of mutual respect and wants peaceful solution of the Kashmir issue. Pakistan wants a durable peace in Afghanistan for development and prosperity of the region. He said the Independence Day reminds the nation as to how the country was created after numerous sacrifices under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The Prime Minister further stated that Pakistan strongly condemns the Israeli aggression against innocent Palestinians and wants UN to take notice of the situation or else the world lose faith in the world body. He added that the world becomes insecure if the UN did not take notice of Israel brutalities on the people of Palestine.
