Taxpayers are facing problems in submitting sales tax returns as the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has neither extended the date for e-filing nor uploaded the Sales Tax Return Form (STRF) on its web-portal. Talking to Business Recorder, office-bearers of Pakistan and Karachi Tax Bars Associations said that associations in their letters sent to the FBR expressed reservations over the delay in uploading STRF on its web-portal.
They said that associations had also requested for extension in the date for e-filing of sales tax returns, which was 15th of every month. They said although the board had issued SRO in this regard, STRF was not uploaded on the web-portal, creating problems for taxpayers to fulfil their legal obligations.
In their letters, associations said that if any change in sales tax return is being made, it should first be discussed with the associations for a feedback. In the meantime, the FBR has been requested to extend the date for e-filing of monthly sales tax return for the tax period July 2014 till August 31, 2014, which is so far not obliged by the board, the office-bearers confirmed.
