the Lahore High Court here on Friday restrained Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) from invoking contempt of court powers. The court was hearing a petition moved by a bar member, Akram. He contended that federal tax ombudsman was using contempt of court powers under Article 204 of the Constitution, which is unconstitutional as FTO was created as a result of a statutory law. To this, the court restrained FTO from using contempt of court powers till a final decision of the petition.
