Cattle markets to be revamped under CMMC

Commissioner Lahore Division Rashid Mahmood Langrial has said that existing cattle markets of Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana and Kasur districts are being revamped in line with the latest international trends under Cattle Market Management Company (CMMC) being established in Lahore Division.
Chairing the meeting of the CMMC Board of Directors here on Saturday, Rashid Mahmood Langrial said that establishment of this company was aimed at elimination of commission mafia and abolishing outdated and exploitative system prevailing under existing cattle market system.
He said that CMMC would work for designing and construction of cattle markets on scientific and technical lines, provision of latest balancing machines and introduction of a simple and effective method of buying and selling. Commissioner Lahore Division further said that provision of all sorts of facilities to sellers is the foremost duty of the company while number of staff and officers would be kept at the minimum required level. He said that a comprehensive strategy is being devised after reviewing all the dimensions of objective of elimination of commission mafia from cattle markets so as to end exploitation of poor livestock farmers.
