At least two participants of Azadi March were killed and 14 others wounded in a roadside accident, when their van overturned in Islamabad late Friday night. According to the Rescue sources, the van of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists, was on its way from Lahore to Islamabad. The ill-fated vehicle, owing to fast speed, careened off down a gorge at Chand Tara Turn near National institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage.
The Islamabad blockade caused relief workers to face difficulties in reaching the accident spot. However, Edhi ambulances transported the bodies and the injured to PIMS Hospital. All casualties belong to Lahore. PTI Chairman Imran Khan expressed grief over the accident and directed PTI Islamabad President Ali Nawaz to immediately reach hospital.
