India beat Pakistan by seven wickets in the Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup at Kinrara Academy Oval on Saturday, to qualify for the final of the tournament.
Batting first, Pakistan posted a target of 72 runs. Only two Pakistani batsmen reached double figures with opener Nahida Khan scoring and 18 and Sana Mir chipping in unbeaten 20.
The team only managed to post 72/7 in the 20 overs. India in replay chased down the target with seven wickets in hand.
A 65-run partnership between Harmanpreet Kaur (34* from 49 balls, 3x4) and Smriti Mandhana (38 from 40 balls, 4x4) played a key role in India’s victory. The win puts India through to the Sunday's final.
On the other hand, Pakistan will have to wait for the outcome of the other match between third-placed Bangladesh and hosts Malaysia, to know their fate.
Pakistan have twice reached the finals of Women's Asia Cup.
