Pakistan Peoples Party Leader and Senator Saeed Ghani on Thursday asked Pakistan Awami Tehrik and Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf to end siege of Parliament House and said that the two parties should respect the mandate of people. Talking to PPI, Ghani said that PTI leader Imran Khan should not agitate people and refrain from asking people to run over Prime Minister House. Such statements are against the democratic norms and PTI leaders should avoid any attempts to endanger democracy in the country, he said.
He said that PPP had a clear stance on current political scenario that every party has the right to stage protest for its demands but no one is allowed to derail the democracy through its protests. Ghani said it was regrettable that both Imran and Qadri could not honour their commitment of not entering Red Zone. He said the PPP had urged the government to allow the PTI to hold its protest demonstration in Islamabad. He said that the PPP leaders Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto sacrificed their lives for the democracy in the country and the PPP would not allow anyone to derail it.
He also urged government to initiate dialogue with the both parties and end this political crisis sensibly. The opposition parties are also approaching PTI and PAT leadership for resolving the issue but it is the prime responsibility of the PML-N government to reach to the protesting parties and try to diffuse this situation through political wisdom, he said. He said that the senior leaders of PPP were summoned by PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari in Dubai to consult over the current political crisis.
