The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will hold 'Alishan Pakistan' the 2nd Edition of 'Lifestyle Pakistan' exhibition in New Delhi from 11th to 14th September 2014. A press release issued by the office of Chief Executive TDAP--S. M. Muneer confirmed today. Over 150 participants are expected to attend the event.
The exhibition will showcase top quality of Pakistan's textiles including high end designer wear like Kayseria Gul Ahmed, Al Karam, Chen One, Junaid Jamshed, Bareeze, Lala, Khaadi, Lawn, Home textile, Readymade garments, Fabric, Leather garments and Accessories, Jewellery, Rice, Carpets, Spices, Marble and Granite and services sectors. Lawn manufacturers including Al Karam, Gul Ahmed, Asim Jofa and Sana Safinaz will also present their collections. Various furniture houses like Interwood will also exhibit and sell their products. The venue is Hall number 18 of Pargatti Maidan, New Delhi.
S. M. Muneer said: "Lifestyle Pakistan is an initiative of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan to further build on the efforts of the governments of Pakistan and India to normalise trade between the two countries. It is second showcase of top quality export products of Pakistan under one roof in India. With a trade potential of billions of dollars between the two countries, the event will not only offer a unique opportunity to trade community of India to interact with Pakistani counterparts but also a first-hand opportunity for customers to feel and own the best quality products Pakistan has to offer."
September in India is the best buying festival season for Pakistani textile products due to Dewali, Dashera and weddings. The exhibition will have over 350 stalls while TDAP's own kiosk has been designed by students of Asian Institute of Fashion Design. The event will be leveraged with a Pakistani food court where Pakistani cuisine will be served to public. Visitors will taste food from renowned chefs from Pakistani hotels and restaurants like Avari and Bundoo Khan at the ITC Moria Hotel. On the sidelines of the main exhibition, a series of fashion shows and musical evenings are also being arranged. The event includes panel discussions and special sessions on trade and business between India and Pakistan. The fashion show of 10th September at Taj Hotel will showcase creative work of leading designers such as Umar Sayeed, Shamaeel, Sania Maskatiya, Faiza Samee, Warda Saleem and Deepak Perwani.
Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy, Shehzad Roy and Meesha Shafi are the brand ambassadors for Aalishan Pakistan. Karachi based NGO Tehzeeb will provide music at the events. Secretary TDAP-Rabia Javeri Agha added: "I would like to extend my utmost thank to our Ministry of Commerce as they are providing full support in organising this event. It is expected that the Commerce Minister will lead a high profile delegation from Pakistan to the exhibition. We are working closely with Indian Commerce Ministry, Indian Federation of Commerce (FICCI) and India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and they are co-operating with us in organising this event."
Javeri added: "I am sure we can showcase everything from Pakistan there and I am positive that we can accumulate more than two-third of our costs through sales. This is a very healthy exercise for the easing of the trade policy between the two countries and thankfully both neighbours have been very supportive."-PR
