Sindh Chief Secretary, Sajjad Saleem Hotiana on Tuesday urged the officials to ensure good governance through systematic and strict compliance with all relevant rules and regulations. Presiding the weekly hearing of complaints forwarded by the government officials themselves against any alleged unlawful action taken against them, the Chief Secretary said government rules and regulations are no hidden document and these ought to be implemented even-handedly as well as in true letter and spirit.
On the occasion he listened to the grievances of Executive Engineer, Sindh Irrigation Department, Rehmatullah Soomro and Dr Zenat Shaikh of the Provincial Health Department. Soomro was said to have been sent on compulsory retirement for being involved in financial irregularities whereas Dr Shaikh was punished with stoppage of two annual increments for official misconduct. Sajjad Saleem Hotiana on the occasion advised the provincial secretaries to zealously monitor the activities of their subordinates for smooth and transparent functioning of all departments and attached offices.
