The Anti-Narcotics Court on Thursday rejected the bail application of former MNA Hanif Abbasi in the ephedrine quota case. The court fixed September 2 for next hearing. During course of hearing, Abbasi's counsel Sardar Muhammad Ishaq told the court that his client is innocent and the case is fabricated and politically-motivated.
He said that ANF has no substantial evidence against the politician, therefore, the court may grant bail to his client in the case. (ANF) prosecutor Shahid Abbasi requested the court to frame charges against the accused, saying that defence was using delaying tactics to avoid trial of the accused. Special Judge Akhtar Bahadur, rejected bail plea of Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, and fixed the case for September 2.
