A special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has directed former President General Pervez Musharraf (Retd) to personally appear in the court on next hearing under any circumstances, otherwise his arrest warrant would be issued. The directives were issued by Attiqur Rehman, a judge of the special court. The police submitted a reply in the court contending that Musharraf could not be produced before the court in the wake of prevailing political situation in the federal capital.
Prosecutor Aamir Nadeem Tabish said that some eight months ago IG Islamabad had assured that the police would provide security to the former President. "If the situation remains the same, the accused would never appear before the court during his lifetime," he added. The court adjourned the hearing of case till September 19.
