The city police on Friday claimed to have arrested around 56 alleged criminals in different targeted raids and encounters conducted at various parts of the provincial metropolis during last 24 hours. The police said in 83 raids and five encounters, it carried out as a part of the on-going Karachi operation, led to the arrests of 56 criminals who were allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
During the operations the police booked 16 criminals under the Arms Act, 13 were booked under the Anti-Narcotics Act, eight absconders, two dacoits, one murderer, and 16 others involved in different criminal activities were also arrested during the same time period. The police said that they have recovered 19 hand guns, 20 grams of heroin, 2,870 grams of Hashish, and 11 liquor bottles from the possession of criminals.
