Protestors dig holes in green belt for toilets

Digging holes in the green belt of the Constitution Avenue for toilets and damaging the Capital Development Authority (CDA) water supply lines is a civil and criminal offence. During the ongoing protest against the government on the Constitution Avenue, workers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have dug holes in the green belt of the Avenue for toilets.
The protestors are also using water by damaging CDA water supply lines in the area. Talking to Business Recorder, former Vice President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry termed it against the norms of decency. He said widespread makeshift toilets is a public health hazard, adding that damaging the public property like misusing water, sewerage, digging the roads for erecting tents, etc, falls under the civil liability and criminal offence and punishable under the provisions of criminal law.
