Legal fraternity here on Monday observed strike and boycotted the court's proceedings to protest brutal torture on participants of marches and media persons at Islamabad. The lawyers kept themselves away from the routine work and spent their time while sitting in barrooms. Pakistan Bar Council and Supreme Court Bar Association had given countrywide strike calls. Litigant public also faced problem due to the boycott as they left courts without any progress.
In Lahore, the high court bar also condemned PTI chief Imran Khan for levelling false allegations against lawyer's leaders. The lawyers also lashed out attack on state media house PTV by participants of the Islamabad dharnas.
The bar's president Shafqat Chohan while addressing the media persons said the lawyers would be at forefront to resist any extra constitutional act in the country. He advised all political parties to end the deadlock.
