Three accused arrested: Rs 12.324 million looted money recovered: AIGP

Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo claimed on Friday that the Shershah police have recovered Rs 12.324 million which were looted on Thursday from a private security company cash van at Paracha Roundabout by its security guards.
The AIGP Karachi said a five-member gang looted Rs 15.650 million from a cash van of a private security company, Phoenix and killed a security guard on Thursday from Shershah area of the city. He said criminals were working as security guards and driver at the same private security company.
Thebo appreciate the police team and said the police team arrested three accused namely Rafiullah, Riaz and Gul Fayyaz and Rs 12.32 million looted money were also recovered from their possession within 12 hours with their rapid response. The Karachi police chief added that police had also conducted raids on the houses of the remaining accused Abid and Saleem alias Foji, whereas they were not found and seemed going underground.
He said the arrested criminals had confessed that they had also looted Rs 15 million from a private security cash van in Korangi, with the help of their accomplices Ramzan, Safiullah, Sudher, Mir Zaman, Mehboob, Usman and Ejaz in September 2011. He said the weapon which was used in the crime was also recovered. He said further investigation was under way, while raids were also being conducted to nab the accomplices of the arrested accused.
