In an effort to expand shopping beyond its usual Feed, Instagram is bringing the option of shopping to its Stories, making it easier for people to shop.
Adding another feature to its Stories, Instagram announced yesterday that it will expand shopping ‘beyond Feed to Instagram Stories’. The Facebook-owned app wrote that apart from being a place of inspiration, the platform is also a place of action and after being able to shop from Feed, users will be given the option to shop from Stories too.
It explained that now it will add stickers with a shopping bag icon to Stories. When the user sees the sticker, they would simply have to tap on it to learn more details about the particular product.
Instagram introduces new feature for its Stories
Instagram wrote, “From Adidas and Aritzia to Louis Vuitton, people have been able to shop from their favorite brands around the world, and now you can shop these businesses in Instagram Stories.”
Quoting the stats, Instagram wrote that shoppers often visit Instagram to check out the latest trends and styles and with 300 million using Instagram Stories every day, they are finding new products from their loved brands. In a survey conducted recently, Instagram found out that Instagrammers said that they often watch stories in order to stay updated with the brands they are interested in, to get an inside view about their liked products, and also to discover new products relevant to them.
With brands being early adopters of stories, they attract and produce engaging content on the platform. Now, with Instagram’s new feature, users can shop from selected brands in its Stories with more of the arriving soon, wrote the social media site.
