PPP leader lashes out at PTI, PAT sit-ins

08 Sep, 2014

PPP MNA from Mirpurkhas Munawar Ali Talpur on Sunday said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek's (PAT) `useless' sit-ins have caused heavy losses to the economy of Pakistan. Terming the postponement of Chinese President's scheduled visit to Pakistan `a great setback', he said that the China's plan of investing dollar 34 billion has been delayed and it has pleased the enemies of the country.
Speaking at a forum, organised by Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW), Talpur said that political protests can never be more important than the country's economic stability. He said that the two protesting leaders have damaged investment climate, besides tarnishing the image of the country abroad.
The PPP leader demanded of the government to take action against the protesting leaders as they have no plan to remain peaceful.
"Rented revolutionaries should not be allowed to take Parliament hostage and that law should rule the county not a mob," he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Murtaza Mughal lauded the government's restraint, saying patience should have its limits. He said that Parliament is getting stronger for which politicians and armed forces should be given credit.
He asked the government to mend ways, resolve issues of the masses and ensure justice so that failed politicians could not incite masses in future.
He said that those who quote Quran and Hadith in their speeches to misguide masses have conveniently ignored the sanctity of life and property in Islam.
The Holy Quran has defined method to replace the government which is being disregarded by the so-called champions of Islam, he added.
