Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and University of Peshawar (UoP), agreed to strengthen academia and industries linkages, sharing academic research and other important research-related information. The matter was discussed during visit of a delegation of University of Peshawar, headed by its vice chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan at the chamber house here on Wednesday. On the occasion, the chamber members of executive body, industrialists and business were Present.
The vice chancellor was accompanied by In-charge of Research and Development department, University of Peshawar, Professor Nisar Khan. The visiting university delegation held meeting with KPCCI President Zahidullah Shinwari, and vowed to mutual Promote academia and industries linkages.
The chamber president on the occasion announced to give representation to university of Peshawar in the KPCCI standing committee on education and said that the co-ordination would helpful to develop close ties between university and industries. Shinwari praised the research work being carried out by University of Peshawar in pharmaceutical, textile, plastic and other sectors relating of industries. He assured the varsity students would be guided in a right direction under leadership of its vice chancellor Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan.
KPCCI chief urged the University of Peshawar researchers, having expertise in various sector, should share their research data with the chamber, in order to take benefit from it. He stressed the need for promoting of job-oriented and according market demand education among the boys and girls students. He said the industries and academia linkages would play integral role for boosting of national economy. On the occasion, the university vice chancellor assured the chamber for playing active role to develop close academia and industrial liaison, and would also promote joint research with co-ordination.
