Punjab approves uplift schemes worth Rs 847.660 million

The Punjab government approved development schemes of different sectors with an estimated cost of Rs 847.660 million on Thursday. The approved development schemes included: Remodelling of Storm Water Channel No.1 Sheikhupura Road to Paharang Drain, Faisalabad at the cost of Rs 490 million, Non-formal Education Promotion Project with Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) at the cost of Rs 245.092 million and Capacity Enhancement of the Punjab Police for Establishment of the Punjab Police Integrated Command, Control and Communication (PPIC3) Centre (PC-II) at the cost of Rs 112.568 million.
These schemes were approved in the 12th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party of current fiscal year 2014-15 presided over by the Punjab Planning and Development Board Chairman, Muhammad Irfan Elahi. Chief Economist Dr Khalid Mushtaq, members of the Planning and Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
