13 executive committee members of FCCI elected unopposed

All the 13 candidates for the vacant seats of the executive committee of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry(FCCI) for the year 2014-16 have been declared elected unopposed unofficially. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Shahid Ahmed Sheikh, a senior member of Election Commission of FCCI, said that after the withdrawal stage, there were only six candidates for the six each seat of corporate and associate class.
Similarly, there was only one candidate for the reserved seat for woman. Hence all these candidates have been declared elected unopposed. He said that six candidates elected for the corporate class are: Sheikh Abdul Qayyum of M/s MQ Fabrics, Sheikh Niaz Ahmed of M/s GN Fabrics, Engineer Rizwan Ashraf of M/s MA Textiles, Shiaq Javed of M/s JK Fibre Mills Limited, Syed Zia Alamdar Hussain of M/s Fashion and Trends Private Limited, and Asam Shehzad of M/s HAR Textile Mills.
Similarly, among those elected for associate class includes: Haji Muhammad Shafi of M/s Paras Hosiery, Rana Muhammad Saleem of M/s Muhammad Saleem son of Muhammad Shafi Silk Factory, Sheikh Idrees Ahmed of M/s Idrees Fabrics, Rana Ikhlaq Ahmed of M/s Mubarak Textiles, Nadeem Iqbal of M/s Allal Wala Brothers and Mian Muhammad Saeed of M/s new Prime Electric Cables.
Meanwhile, Ms Bilqees Akhtar of Work Wear has already been declared elected against the seat reserved for woman. Shahid Ahmed Sheikh said that in next phase of election, the office-bearers including president, senior vice president and vice president would be elected. Executive members are eligible to file nomination papers on September 18, 2014. The voting for these offices would be held on September 22, 2014. However, the official announcement of the elected office-bearers would be made during annual General Body Meeting scheduled to be held on September 30, 2014.
The other members of election commission Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz and Ayub Aslam Manj were also present during this press conference. They said that election process is being conducted on fair, free, impartial and transparent manner and this tradition would be maintained in future at all costs.
