Jhang, Chiniot: 23,000 food packets sent to flood-hit people

Under arrangements of the district administration, more than 23,000 food packets of 12 kg each have been sent to Jhang district and Chiniot for the flood affected people. This information was give to former Punjab minister for law Rana Sanaullah Khan during his visit to delivery centre at Alfateh Sports Complex, Saleemi Chowk on Satiana Road.
Rana Sanaullah was told that each food packet consisted of flour, rice, gram pulse, sugar, vegetable gee, dates, biscuits, tea packets, rusk and other food items.
Rana Sanaullah appreciated the efforts and arrangements of the district administration for preparing food packets swiftly in huge quantity for dispatching to the flood affected areas for distribution in a very organized manner. He said the Punjab government had mobilised all its resources to help and rehabilitate the flood victims. He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif were visiting flood hit areas to share the sufferings of the flood affected people and to supervise relief operations.
He said the flood affected people would not be left alone and compensation would be provided to them for their losses despite financial constraints. He said that the help of philanthropists and welfare organisations could not be ignored and they were busy in the relief activities side by side the government. He said that Faisalabad industrialists, traders and other philanthropists had always extended generous support to the suffering people whenever time of test was came.
DCO Noorul Amin Mengal informed Rana Sanaullah that the district administration with the assistance of local philanthropists had dispatched so far 35 truck loads of food items and medicines to Jhang district, Chiniot and Hafizabad. He said food packets had been arranged for smooth and organized distribution among each affected family.
