Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute & Lahore General Hospital Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra have stressed the doctors to go to flooded areas and provide medical relief to the effected people. He also appealed to the doctors living in foreign countries to come forward and help their country fellows open heartedly in this time of trial.
Prof. Anjum said this while talking to media and the participants of a walk held in connection with the Dengue Prevention Day here on Sunday. The walk was attended by MS LGH Dr. Pervez Imtiaz, Principal Nursing School LGH Raeesa Ishtiaq, AMSs, DMSs, nursing students and staff of all the departments of hospital. Earlier the staff thoroughly cleaned the hospital by every nook and corner and ensured spray in the ignored parts of the building promises. Dengue related pamphlets were also distributed among attendants of the patients and general masses on this occasion.
Prof. Anjum Habib Vohra said that the easiest way to avoid dengue is to keep high standard of cleanliness amongst our environment. He said that due to torrential rains and floods, dengue can threaten the human lives in province once again. The danger can be minimised provided that the spirit of 2012 & 2013 is maintained by every one in the society, especially the staff of LGH and other hospitals, he added.
He said that the province is faced with super flood of its history which requires us all to celebrate coming Eid ul Azha with maximum simplicity. He emphasised that citizens should donate to flood victims instead of spending on routine Eid observation. He suggested that philanthropists must lend a hand to Government so that rehabilitation of flood stricken people could be completed before winter.
He said that doctors and students of PGMI and Ameer Ud Din Medical College have volunteered themselves for visiting flooded areas to help stranded people and soon such teams would be sent to the effected villages in far flung areas.
