A peace and culture festival was arranged, aiming at to give a message of peace and provide of festive opportunity for terrorism-driven people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The festival was held under auspices of the South Asia Partnership Pakistan (SAP-PK) here at local hotel on Saturday. A large number of people from different walk of life include politicians, academicians, and members of various civil societies, students, known Pashto poets, singers, and artists attended the festive activity.
SAP Pakistan Regional head for FATA and KP Sikandar Zaman, Regional Program Co-ordinator Allah Noor Afridi and Regional Co-ordinator Naeem Khattak as keynote speakers at the event. Speakers highlighted the importance of arranging of peace and culture events in Peshawar. They informed the participants about a drive "Citizen Action for Peace and Development" under the auspices of the organisation; with a view to make unite common people on the issue of peace and development, which is possible with an end to violence and extremism. Leaders of political parties included former provincial minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain also spoke on the occasion whereas they paid glowing tributes to all those who fell victims of militancy and terrorism in last one decade.
