The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday summoned the Secretary Interior to appear and explain on September 29 that why Senator Mir Israrullah Zehri was not being provided security despite court's orders. A single member bench of the IHC comprising Justice Athar Minallah resumed hearing of BNP Awami head Senator Mir Israrullah Zehri's plea seeking security from the government as he was receiving life threats.
The court also directed the federation's counsel to ask Ministry of Interior to provide list of those who were already enjoying government security. During the course of hearing, Taufeeq Asif, counsel for Zehri apprised the bench that a rocket was fired at his residence in Khuzdar and he was continuously receiving life threats. He argued that despite the court's orders, federal government was not providing security to Zehri.
