Pakistan holds UK ties in high esteem: Bokhari

Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari on Tuesday said Pakistan valued its bilateral relations with United Kingdom at high esteem. "Pakistani community living in UK is acting as bridge between the two sides," he expressed these views while talking to Lord Mayor of city of Stoke-on-Trent Councillor Majid Khan and members of his delegation including Chaudhary Karamat Ali, former Lord Mayor, and Chaudhary Kabeer, a businessman, at the Parliament House.
Senator Muhammad Talha Mehmood was also present on the occasion. He said expatriate Pakistanis were contributing not only to development of UK but were also playing a vital role in the economic development of the country through foreign exchange. The Chairman observed that it was a matter of great satisfaction that Pakistani community was playing a vibrant role in politics in UK.
He urged the business community to come forward and invest in different sectors as there was huge potential for investment in different sectors. Members of the delegation apprised the Chairman about the purpose of their visit. They underscored the need for strong linkages between the second and third generation of Pakistani community with Pakistan. "Continuity of the democratic process is direly needed to overcome the deficiencies of the system," Nayyer Bokhari added.
