Oneside of Constitution Avenue opened for public

The Pakistan Awami Tehreek has voluntarily opened one side of the Constitution Avenue for public and motorists. The PAT workers are camped on both sides of the dharna site to keep a watch on people coming and going out of the venue. The volunteers standing at the entrance and exit thoroughly check the vehicles and then let them go.
A member of the PAT administration team told Business Recorder that they have voluntarily opened one side of the Constitution Avenue to facilitate the road users. "We don't want to create hurdles for residents of Islamabad and motorists," he said. He said the PTI workers were deployed on entrance and exit points of the sit-in to keep a check on suspected elements. "Each vehicle passing through the Constitution Avenue is checked for security clearance," he said, adding that the PAT workers are told not to create hurdles for the motorists and other road users.
This may be pertinent to mention here that the Constitution Avenue remained close for over a month due to the PAT Dharna (sit-in. The Supreme Court of Pakistan had also directed the PAT leadership to open the Constitution Avenue for the motorists and public.
However, the PAT has now voluntarily opened one side of the avenue for the public and motorists. "The other side of the avenue cannot be opened as our workers have set up their camps on the road," he said. He said the sit-in would continue until Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif tender their resignations.
