The city police on Saturday claimed to have arrested around 65 alleged criminals in different targeted operations and encounters conducted at various parts of the provincial metropolis during last 24 hours. The police said in 91 raids and four encounters carried out as a part of the on-going Karachi operation against criminals, terrorists, land mafia and extortionists led to the arrests of 65 criminals who were allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
The police booked 22 criminals under the Arms Act. Five were booked under the Anti-Narcotics Act. The other arrested criminals include four proclaimed offenders (POs), eight robbers/dacoits, one terrorist and some 25 others involved in different criminal activities. The police said they have recovered 28 handguns, one hand grenade, five bottles of liquor and 2,150 grams of Hashish from their possession.
