28 Sep, 2014

World number six Agnieszka Radwanska eased through to the second round of the $5.4 million China Open on Saturday, as she edges towards a place in next month's WTA Finals. The fifth seed in Beijing could make the season-ending finale in Singapore featuring the world's top eight women players with a good run at the tournament.
Radwanska defeated Coco Vandeweghe of the United States 6-4, 6-3 in her first round match, following an early exit from the inaugural Wuhan Open which concluded on Saturday. The Polish player was dumped out of the $2.4 million tournament in central China in her opening match last Monday by a determined Caroline Garcia of France. Radwanska will play either Italy's Roberta Vinci or Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan in the next round in Beijing.
