Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday referred a petition challenging Maryum Nawaz Sharif's appointment as chairperson Prime Minister's Youth Loan Programme (PMYLP) to LHC Chief Justice for constitution of a larger bench.
The court was hearing a civil miscellaneous application moved by PTI Zubair Niazi through advocate Sheraz Zaka in a main petition challenging the appointment of Maryum Nawaz as chairperson. Earlier, counsel for the petitioner told the court to send the case to LHC Chief Justice for formation of a larger bench.
He pointed out that as Supreme Court had laid down the principle that appointments on important posts should be made in transparent manner but the same principle was not followed in Marryum's appointment. He said Rs 100 billions were involved in the matter and its distribution should be made in transparent manner.
