Sindh NAB arrests man accused of cheating people

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Sindh has arrested Rafiq Abdul Kareem, son of Haji Usman, in the case of cheating public at large for an amount of Rs 14.44 million. The accused was acting as front man for his brother Skiandar A. Kareem, who is at large.
They are involved in the case of Silver Sands Project by Beach Builders located at Sea View in Clifton, Karachi. Eleven allottees out of total 44 affectees have lost their savings at the hands of the accused. None of the affectees has been handed over the possession of the apartment till date.
The beach developer announced Silver Sands Apartment Project in Khayaban-e-Shamsheer DHA Phase-V in 1992 to be completed by 1996. Till to date none of the allottees has been given possession. The project consisted of over 100 units of flats and millions of rupees were looted from the innocent public at large. The project is still incomplete. Investigation is in progress in the NAB of Sindh. Affectees of this project are advised to contact the Sindh NAB office along with documents to file their claims.-PR
