The city police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested around 78 alleged criminals in different targeted raids and encounters conducted at various parts of the provincial metropolis during last 24 hours. The police said that their 106 raids and four encounters carried out as a part of the on-going Karachi operation led to the arrests of 65 criminals who were allegedly involved in various crimes.
The police booked 19 under the Arms Act and six others under the Anti-Narcotics Act. Those who arrested were include one proclaimed offender (PO), four robbers, 19 absconders, two murderers and 27 others involved in different criminal activities. The police said they have recovered 21 handguns, two Kalashnikov rifles, three hand grenade, three bottles of liquor, and 5,070 grams of Hashish from their possession.
