Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) foiled several bids to smuggle drugs by carrying out three successful operations at Sialkot, Peshawar and Karachi, and recovered 10-kg heroin, 1.05-kg Charas and 650 grams amphetamine, while apprehended four persons.
Most of the recovered drug was being smuggled abroad, valuing approximately Rs 69.5 million in international market. UK authorities, while acting on information shared by ANF, intercepted two parcels containing 650 grams of heroin in UK. According to details, ANF Karachi Sea Port Team intercepted a shipment at Badar-ud-Din Yard, Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT), Sea Port, Karachi and recovered 10kg heroin concealed in 66 cartons containing jeans pants destined for Malysia. After initial investigations, a dispatcher namely Aqeel Shah r/o Mansehra was taken into custody from seaport area.
ANF Peshawar Road Check Team intercepted a Suzuki Mehran near main Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar and recovered 1.05 grams Charas tactfully concealed in the car. A drug carrier Zahid Ali r/o District Peshawar was taken into custody. ANF Lahore Road Check Team during a routine checking near Airport Chowk, Sambrial, District Sialkot, arrested two individuals namely Asif Ali r/o Kasur and Khizer Hayat r/o Khushab and recovered 650 grams amphetamine concealed in their passenger bag.
As per reports, both accused came from Rawalpindi and were heading towards Sialkot Airport, wherefrom Asif Ali intended to board for Dammam, Saudi Arabia via Sharjah by Air Arabia Flight. The accused were being assisted by a middleman Khalid based at Rawalpindi, while main source of supply is said to be based at Mardan namely Raza Ullah.
UK law enforcement authorities on pursuance of actionable information shared by ANF Intelligence Wing, intercepted two different parcels in UK, which separately contained 450 and 200 grams heroin ie 650 grams in total concealed in book covers. The parcels were intended for two different recipients namely Muhammad Akram r/o 363-Black Moor Soot Road, Crossland Moor, Hudersfield, UK and Abdul Rasheed Rabbani r/o 6-Victoria Crescent Bank, Adle Road, Dewsbury, UK respectively, whereas the dispatcher was the same person Abdul Qayyum r/o District Nowshehra. All cases have been registered at ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under progress.-PR
