The online sale of sacrificial animals has not attracted people as majority of faithful still prefer to visit cattle markets for buying animals of their choice. Several billboards have appeared in the city offering online sale of sacrificial animals, indicating addresses of their websites.
Some of the traders doing animals' business have provided detailed information about animals on different websites. They have advertised photographs of their animals on the internet, mentioning their colour, breed and weight. They claimed that prices of animals being sold online, in the absence of middle-men, are less than those available in cattle markets.
However, the online sale of sacrificial animals has not yet attracted people, they said, adding that online sacrificial animals' business would take some time to become popular among people. "It is just the start and people are getting information gradually about the business," an online trader added. There is a general trend that people visit sacrificial animals markets with their children and friends so that they could buy the animals of their choice. Meanwhile, buying of sacrificial animals was gaining momentum as the Eid-ul-Azha was now only three days away.
