The Rescue 1122 Emergency Ambulance Rescue and Fire Services shall remain on duty during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha to provide emergency services to the citizens from all 36 districts of Punjab. In this regard, the leaves of rescuers have been restricted and over 7,000 Emergency Medical Technicians; Fire Rescuers, Computer Telephone Wireless Operators supervised by the Rescue & Safety Officers and District Emergency Officers shall remain available even during the Eid holidays.
Emergency plans for Eid-ul-Azha have been chalked out and implemented in all districts of Punjab in close co-ordination with district administrations. The districts have made plans for deployment of emergency ambulances, rescue and fire services at important mosques and Eidgahs. Rescue mobile posts of emergency paramedics shall also be deployed at important places of mass gatherings.
Director General, Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer directed all the District Emergency Officers to organise meetings with local mosque committees and ensure that local volunteers are available in case of any emergency in their respective districts. The PMC established at Rescue 1122 Headquarters shall remain operational round-the-clock to ensure effective implementation of District Emergency Plans. District Control Rooms shall also be functional round the clock for provision of effective emergency services to the public.
In Lahore, the Rescue 1122 staff shall remain on special duties in district control room, along with emergency rescue stations, 29 fully equipped emergency ambulances, 14 fire vehicles, 04 rescue vehicles, 01 water rescue vehicle and a Disaster Rescue Team. Dr Rizwan Naseer has also wished all the citizens a safe Eid Mubarak and advised to drive safely particularly while leaving to and returning from home during Eid holidays. He also appealed to the citizens to immediately dial 1122 in case of emergency, as only timely call can ensure timely rescue.
