Joining IR/Customs Departments: FBR forms two bodies to seek options from BS 1-16 grade employees

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has constituted two committees to seek options from BS 1-16 employees appointed/promoted in former Pakistan Customs & Excise/Sales Tax & Federal Excise Departments for joining Inland Revenue Department or Pakistan Customs Department.
In this regard, the FBR has issued a notification issued here on Saturday regarding rationalisation of sanctioned / working strength of staff (BS-1-16) of Inland Revenue Department and Pakistan Customs Department. According to the FBR, consequent upon separation of FBR Operations in two functional streams ie Inland Revenue & Pakistan Customs, the board obtained irrevocable options from BS-1-16 employees appointed/ promoted in the erstwhile Pakistan Customs & Excise/ Sales Tax & Federal Excise Departments for joining Inland Revenue Department or Pakistan Customs Department.
In order to decide/ finalise the options received from employees of field formations, the committee has been constituted with the approval of Chairman, FBR/ Secretary, Revenue Division. FBR Member (Admn) will be chairman of the committee whereas Chief (Management) would be Member; Chief (Mgt. Customs), Member; Chief (Legal), Member; Chief Customs (F&C), Member and Chief (ITP-IR) would ac as Member of the committee. The committee will examine the option cases and formulate/ submit suitable recommendations to the competent authority. No appeal shall lie against the decision taken by the competent authority on recommendations of the committee, FBR added.
