Saudi sacrificial meat distributed among 14,000 poor families

The International Islamic Relief Organisation of Saudi Arabia (IIRO) has distributed sacrificial meat to the poor people in Pakistan. The distribution ceremony was held at IIRO's office in Islamabad. Saudi Acting Ambassador to Pakistan Jasim Al-Khalidi, Dr Jamal Nasir, President of Pakistan Green Task Force and Regional Director of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Director of IIRO in Pakistan and Afghanistan Abdo Muhammad Ateen were present on the occasion.
The project is part of the humanitarian aid of Saudi Arabia to the people of Pakistan, Jasim Al-Khalidi said while speaking on the occasion. He commended the services of the IIROSA to alleviate the sufferings of the poor people in Pakistan and elsewhere. Dr Jamal Nasir, President of PGTF, paid tributes to IIRO and the Saudi government for their services to the people of Pakistan. He said on this occasion the Saudi government and welfare organisations like IIRO were carrying projects which were helpful in alleviating poverty and miseries of our people. These services being highly appreciated by the people of Pakistan, he said. He stressed on the need of projects which could provide job to the people instead of financial assistance.
The present meat distribution will benefit 14,000 poor families of Pakistan, said IIRO DG Abdo Muhammad Ateen. He added that the relief activities were underway under the supervision of Khadim Al Haramain Al Sharifain King Abdullah and the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia in Pakistan to help Pakistani brothers and sisters. He said Pakistan and Saudia Arabia were tied in strong brotherly relations, adding that in all difficult times Saudi welfare organisations would extend help to their Pakistani brothers. Farzana Yaqoob, Minister of Social Welfare & Women Development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Javed Butt, Deputy Director of IIRO, members of IIRO and a large number of media people were present during the distribution ceremony.
