Co-chairman of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari has said that he is securing democracy not Nawaz Sharif. He has also suggested party workers to enjoy the wrestling between two combatants of Punjab, as the PPP is not the part of this battle. Addressing a meeting of PPP's Rawalpindi division at Bilawal House, Lahore, Asif Zardari said:"Wrestling is tradition of Punjab and people should enjoy it."
"Party workers are complaining that I am supporting PM Nawaz, but this isn't correct. My support is for democracy not for Nawaz", he said. Former President said:" PPP is an unbiased political party and supporting the system." Speaking about General Pervaiz Musharraf (retired), Zardari said he, unlike Nawaz Sharif, who detained Musharraf, he dealt with him (Musharraf) in a better way to keep him out of politics.
Zardari said that Pakistan was strong today because of the struggle of Benazir Bhutto and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. "Pakistan's condition would have been same as that of Syria and Libya, had we not possessed nuclear and missile technology", he remarked. He criticised the world powers for noticing the atrocities being committed in Syria, but ignoring the war crimes in Egypt.
