People advised not to travel by unregistered vehicles

Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqi advised the people to avoid travelling in unregistered vehicles plying on roads without road permits because such vehicles are risk to their life and property. He said this while chairing a meeting about Karachi Circular Railway at the Commissioner Office here on Thursday, said a statement.
Shoaib Siddiqi said that the government is making active efforts to provide better transport facilities to masses. Construction of flyovers, pedestrian bridges, circular railways and other steps are being taken to improve transport system, he added. He said that Chingchi rickshaws will be regularised keeping the safety standards in view and reservations of the people in this regard will be removed.
The Commissioner Karachi said that the federal and provincial governments are making serious efforts to implement the Karachi Circular Railway project. He said that the Rapid Bus Transport Project has been launched on the directives and due to vibrant efforts of the Sindh Chief Minister.
The project about launching operations of buses in different corridors is also under consideration, he added. He said that Karachiites are facing problems in travelling because no investment has been brought to transport sector in the metropolis, since long. Additional Commissioner Karachi, Muhammad Aslam Khoso, Deputy Commissioner Malir, Director General MDA, MD KUTC, DS Railways, SSP Railways and other officials concerned were also present.
