Effective security on Eid-ul-Azha: no untoward incident took place in capital

Effective security arrangements of Islamabad police on occasion of Eid-ul-Azha proved to have achieved significant success, as no untoward incident took place due to strict patrolling that help curtail criminal activities. According to police plan, various teams performed patrolling and security duties on Eid occasion and residential areas were focused to curb burglary and theft activities.
IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan and SSP Islamabad Asmat Ullah Junejo assigned special task to policemen to protect lives and property of the citizens. As per plan, beat system was introduced for security at main shopping centers, markets and additional deployment and patrolling of policemen was ensured for security in residential areas. Mobile police squad patrolled at important shopping centers including Super Jinnah, Super market, F-10 and Aabpra markets.
Policemen were assigned duties at bus stands, graveyards and railway stations, while special deployments were ensured at Faisal Mosque. All SHOs had been directed earlier to conduct security meetings with managers of bus stand as nine bus stands were identified for security duties.
Following these meetings, special police pickets were erected in the vicinity of bus stands and police with the help of volunteers checked the passengers and other suspects there. As per security duties on Eid, the policemen were assisted by the contingents of Pakistan Rangers and police commandos, which ensured implementation of this plan successfully.-PR
