Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has appealed to farmers, peasants, writers and journalists of Sindh to come forward and strengthen the MQM. He said this while talking to a joint meeting of the Co-ordination Committee in London and Pakistan.
He said the MQM was the party of poor farmers, peasants, writer and journalists and not of feudal lords and dacoits. "Poor people of Sindh should strengthen the MQM by becoming its members in order to free Sindh from the clutches of feudal lords and dacoits." He said: "The MQM wants to establish such an atmosphere and society in Sindh in which both boys and girls can hope to get education without any fear."
"Oppressed people of Sindh were hard-pressed because of injustices and deprivation and they have been left behind development and progress. Time has come for taking steps to win the hearts of Sindhi brothers by giving them their rights and justice." The MQM chief said the people of Sindh need real education instead of mere certificates and degrees.
