Three shot dead; girl commits suicide in city

At least three persons were killed and six others injured in separate incidents in the city, while a girl committed suicide allegedly, here on Friday. According to police and rescue sources, Sultan, 33, son of Ahmed Deen, was shot dead by unidentified armed men when he tried to resist a robbery bid near Laasi Goth, New Karachi. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.
In another incident, Qurban, 40, son of Fateh Muhammad, was killed when unknown armed men barged into his house and shot him dead near Ijtemah Gah, Ramzan Goth, Manghopir area. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy. Police suspected that the motive behind the murder was personal enmity. In another incident, Akram, 40, son of Ramzan, was gunned down by unknown armed men in Surjani Town. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy.
In yet another incident, a teenage girl, Bushra, 18, daughter of Noor Zaman, committed suicide allegedly by hanging herself with a ceiling fan inside her residence in Orangi Town. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, some six persons were injured during a clash between two rival groups in Anth Chowk Lyari. The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital (CH) for treatment.
