Improving policies: Due importance given to public opinion and media: minister

Provincial Minister for Excise & Taxation and Finance, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman has said that government gives due importance to public opinion and media for improving its policies. He said that government has always welcomed positive criticism and given freedom of expression to all segments of the society.
He said that development budget for education and health has been enhanced during the last six years and a record increase has been made in development schemes for South Punjab. He said that 36 percent of development budget for the current financial year has been allocated for South Punjab so that maximum development projects could be completed in less developed districts.
While reviewing survey reports of different NGOs here on Sunday, Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman said that policies of Punjab government will result in providing job opportunities to four million youth. He said that more than seven million people are coming above poverty line while technical training would be provided to two million persons to enable them stand on their own feet. He said that government has allocated Rs 345 billion for development projects, two billion rupees for millennium development targets, Rs 274 billion for education which is 26.25 percent of the total budget and 121.8 billion for health.
