One of the most loved movies of Bollywood ‘3 Idiots’ will have its sequel soon. The film resonated in many hearts, and director Rajkumar Hirani is ready to direct a sequel, but says it will take time to develop.

While promoting his upcoming movie ‘Sanju’, Hirani said, “I have some ideas in mind, but they haven’t been developed yet. I definitely want to make a sequel to 3 Idiots because the journey was so much fun,” he says, adding, “Abhijaat (writer) and I have sat down and started writing for the 3 Idiots sequel. The idea is pretty much there, but it needs to be fleshed out,” Mid-Day reported.

However, Hirani will work on the sequel to 3 Idiots only after Munna Bhai 3. A source told an Indian tabloid, “They have almost finalised the script of Munna Bhai 3. Raju is keen to start work on it.”

Some time ago, even Aamir Khan had expressed his interest in the sequel to 3 Idiots. He had expressed his desire to take forward the story of these three friends in the film.

For now, titled as ‘Sanju’, the filmmaker is coming up with a biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt’s life. Ranbir Kapoor will essay the role of controversial Bollywood actor. He has delivered some of the industry’s biggest hits in the past, including the Munna Bhai franchise, 3 Idiots, and PK. Confirming rumours, Hirani says, “I want to make sequels to both 3 Idiots and PK.”
