The Chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Dr Tahir ul Qadri, has said the negative propaganda of the government that the PAT held the sit-in in collaboration or on the instigation of any third force has died its own death. He said the government, cabinet and members of the ruling party must apologise to the nation for maligning the army and intelligence agencies directly and indirectly for two months.
He expressed these views while talking to newsmen here on Wednesday before his departure for Abbottabad. He said that by calling of the sit-in "we have proven that we make our own decisions and do not take dictation from anybody". He said: "We forced the government to lodge an FIR of the Model Town incident and had we not staged the sit-in this would never had happened."
The PAT chief said instead the Punjab government had lodged an FIR against the people, who had lost their dear ones in the Model Town incident, adding: "Our war is with the unjust system and those who support and stand behind it." He said: "My opponents dream that I leave the country will never be fulfilled as I intend to stay here with the poor and the oppressed people."-PR
